The Mountain Crest High School FFA has Bedding Plants for sale at great prices. Proceeds go to helping finance student activities. Contact Sam Jones (245-6093 ext 248).

The Logan City Environmental Department is collecting food from students who are moving away for the summer. A handful of apartments have chosen to participate in the food drive, however, the Environmental Dept is encouraging all university students to donate their unwanted food to the food pantry instead of throwing it away. Remember the food needs to be unopened and non-perishable such as canned and boxed foods.

A Mtn Crest Track and Field Fundraiser is happening TODAY (Wed) from 430p.m. to 630p.m. at the Mcdonalds in Hyrum. Mountain Crest coaches, parents and athletes will be working aside McDonald’s employees to help raise funds for the new track and field. Come eat and buy a brick paver with your name engraved on it to line the new Mountain Crest High School walkway.

The Options for Independence Community Integration Program aims to involve people with disabilities of all ages in recreation and leisure activities that are available to the general public & to promote the accessibility of community recreation & leisure options. TODAY(Wed) at 1p.m. Options will be going to Crystal Hot Springs. Join the fun by calling Mandie (753-5353).

“Grow Your Own Business” a series of free lectures are being held at the Brigham City Library (26 E Forest St, Brigham City). The topic for this week is “Forms, Forms, How to Navigate the City/County Forms to Get Your Business Started” . The lecture is TONITE (Wednesday) at 7p.m. Although the lectures are free, sign-up is required. Call the Brigham City Library (435-723-5850).

Auditions for "Aloha- USO!" (the 2008 Big Band Celebrate Show) will be held again TONITE (Wed) at 530p.m. at the Thomas Edison School (200 East/ 2600 North, North Logan). Cast members are eligible to receive 3 hours class credit and a scholarship plus travel with the show this year. Dancers should wear dance leotard and tights. Another ‘Parent Tot Nature Hour’ will be held Friday morning from 10 to 11a.m.at the Stokes Nature Center. They invite curious toddlers, ages 2 – 3, to explore animals, plants, and nature through music, crafts and games. All toddlers must have a parent-pal present. Costs are $3 ($2.50 for SNC members). The North Logan Library holds weekly Story Time and Toddler Time programs. A benefit ‘Carnival for Kids’ will be held this Friday from 4p.m. to 8p.m. and Saturday from 12 noon to 8p.m. at the Smith’s Marketplace parking lot (750 N Main, Logan). Featuring a Twin-Spin ride, Fun House, Shoot and Shower, Bouncy Clown Ride, Obstacle course a Bounce House and a Giant Slide . Unlimited Daily Ride Pass is $10 single/ $40 for family of 5 and $1 to $2 for Individual Rides. Wristband tickets can be purchased prior to the event at any checkstand, service desk or at the Gate . All proceeds go to Primary Children’s Medical Center.

Aquafina Pitch, Hit and Run Competition is sponsored by the Logan Parks and Recreation Dept and Logan High School Baseball. It will be held on Saturday beginning at 930a.m. on the Logan High School Baseball Field. This program is free to youth ages 7 to 14. A Bi-Stake Youth Music Fireside will be held Sunday night at 630p.m. at the Logan Stake Center (940 Three Point Ave). Please wear Sunday attire. All youth are invited to attend. It’s an evening of music provided by the youth of the stakes. Special speakers will be President and Sister Joyce of the Utah Ogden Mission. Refreshments will be served.

Many people have received bogus tax refund-related emails which falsely claim to be from the IRS. The recipient is directed to click on links in the email to access refund claim information or complete a personal information form regarding an audit. Clicking on the link just leads to trouble. The North Logan City Library’s popular gardening series is back, taught by experts from USU’s Extension program. The weekly series concludes next Tuesday from 2p.m. to 3p.m. in the library meeting room. Next weeks’ topic is : “Fertilizer and Pesticides”. For more info: (755-7169).

BRAG (Bear River Association of Governments) is sponsoring a Small Business Workshop May 6^th thru the 29^th (each Tuesday and Thursday nights) at the West Campus Bridgerland Vocational College (1000W 1400 North, Logan), room 1905 (enter the north end). The Tremonton Fire Department is holding a “Steak Fry & Auction” – May 10th with Dinner from 4p.m. to 8p.m. and the Auction at 8p.m. with Door prizes and a Grand Prize. Cost is $10 dollars. Proceeds benefit the community.

Mount Logan Middle School is currently accepting nominations to serve on their 2008-2009 MLMS Community Council Committee. If you have a student attending Mount Logan in the next school year and would like to be a member of the community council, please stop by the front office and pick up a nomination form. Elections will be held on May 14th.

The 15th annual Bryan Seeholzer Memorial Golf Tournament – May 17th at the Logan River Golf Course with a 130p.m Shotgun start. Entry fee is $70 per person. Includes green fee, cart fee, tee prize and dinner catered by the Iron Gate Grill (dinner only - $20 donation). Proceeds from this tournament offset costs in the Logan River Junior Golf Program. Summer camps include: U.S. Open Camp (June 9 – 12; British Open Camp (July 14 – 17) and PGA Camp (August 4 – 7). All skill levels are invited to participate. Registration deadline is May 14^th . The Logan High School Community Council is looking for members for next year. They will be holding an on-line election the week of May 19^th . Online voting will be available at the school in the Media Center or the Multi-Cultural Center during school hours. Logan Parks and Recreation is now taking reservations for the Logan Aquatic Center (451 S 500 West, Logan). The Aquatic Center opens on May 23rd and closes on September 1st. The pool can be reserved Tuesday thru Sunday from 730p.m. to 930p.m. Reservation fee is $500 for an exclusive reservation and $300 for a multi-group reservation. The “Golden Spike Art Show and Sale” will be held June 27th and 28th . The theme is “Northern Utah 1825-1925.
